CFD Bans All Open Burning In City

Drought conditions coupled with very high and trending to extreme fire danger levels continue to persist in northern and central Idaho. These unprecedented conditions have prompted fire restrictions to be raised to Stage II in accordance with the criteria established in the 2015 Idaho Fire Restrictions Plan for all lands in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. The following burn regulations have been enacted.

  • All open wood burning activities including campfires in the City of Coeur d Alene are prohibited until further notice.
  • Propane and charcoal bar-b-que are allowed if they are located on private property.
  • Charcoal bar-b-que’s are allowed at designated grills inside city parks.
  • Wood smokers are allowed if the fire is contained to the smoker unit.
