KCSO Update: Cape Horn Fire

Last night the Incident Management Team for the Cape Horn Fire burning near the community of Bayview, ID met with about 135 residents to discuss fire suppression efforts, current fire status and the plan to transition to a smaller management team. The community heard from all levels of the management team and we fielded numerous questions. Currently, the fire is being held to 1326 acres of land and is 70% contained. There are 480 personnel being utilized at the current time to contain, control and extinguish the fire. As this fire will continue to burn, people may see smoke and even some flames within the containment area. If anyone sees smoke or flames outside the containment area, they are urged to contact the information line at 208-683-1024 or their local emergency offices.
