Wild Card/Thursday — 7.16.15

In an evening walk downtown Wednesday, Mrs. O, Huckleberry & I encountered a couple from southern Illinois who were staying at the Coeur d’Alene Resort. They had just tasted huckleberries for the first time, possibly at the Farmer’s Market or Crafted (which was teeming with customers). The female half of the equation thought Idaho’s state fruit tasted like a bitter blueberry. I informed her that the only proper reaction to a taste of huckleberry is um-um good. Otherwise, I said, the locals know you’re not from around here and view you suspiciously. Otherwise, the pair seemed like a nice couple who, along with other members of their company, had selected Coeur d’Alene as the place to enjoy a rewards vacation. I thanked them for spending their money in Coeur d’Alene. Now for today’s Wild Card …
