Poll: Spend Surplus On Education

  • Thursday Poll: The tax cutters are slobbering re: the $108M surplus remaining in the 2014-15 state budget. But Hucks Nation says the money should be used for more important things than a tax cut, ranking the state’s underfunded public education system at the top. When asked how to use the surplus, Hucks Nation voted this way: 1. Public Education (119 of 376 votes, 31.65%), 2. Transportation (77 of 376, 20.48%), 3. Higher Education (53, 14.1%), 4. Rainy Day Fund (41, 10.9%), 5. Social Programs (40, 10.64%), 6. Tax Cuts (28, 7.45%), Buildings (13, 3.46%), and Other (5, 1.33%).
