Dentist Who Killed Cecil Speaks

Here’s a set of photos involving the clueless killing of a prize Zimbabwe lion, allegedly by American dentist Walter Palmer of Bloomington, Minn.

A Minnesota dentist being sought by Zimbabwean police on poaching charges for killing a beloved lion named Cecil said yesterday he was unaware of the animal’s protected status until it was too late. “I had no idea that the lion I took was a known, local favorite, was collared and part of a study until the end of the hunt,” Walter James Palmer, 55, of Eden Prairie said in a statement. “I relied on the expertise of my local professional guides to ensure a legal hunt”/ Boston Herald.com. Question: Do you believe dentist Walter Palmer — that he didn’t know he was poaching a beloved lion? Does it matter?
