WSU media guide and Pac-12 links

Washington State’s Media Days contingent will address the press today. But first, here’s the WSU media guide.

As you can see, redshirt freshman linebacker Chandler Leniu is a robust 261 pounds. That’s enormous at 6-feet tall and if he can maintain enough speed to stay at linebacker he should at the very least be a good counter to the conference’s so-called power backs, such as Oregon’s Royce Freeman.

The Cougars have a power back of their own in Gerard Wicks, who is up to 224-pounds, which should be an ideal weight for his frame.

We should note that incoming freshmen Sean Harper and Joseph Price are not listed on the roster, nor is offensive lineman Sean Krepsz. While some attrition every offseason is expected, Krepsz was a player the coaching staff seemed fairly high on.

— For today’s paper I wrote a story about Washington’s Deontae Cooper, who wishes everyone would stop showing him so much sympathy. Cooper is also playing this season to honor his recently departed father.

— I also have a notebook, leading with commissioner Larry Scott’s reform agenda .

— Arizona State coach Todd Graham is high on his Sun Devils . So is starting quarterback Mike Bercovici .

— Colorado has a tough road in the difficult Pac-12 South, but coach Mike MacIntyre remains confident .

— New Oregon State coach Gary Andersen doesn’t plan on playing second fiddle in his own state.

— David Shaw is figuring out how to get Stanford back to its usual, dominant self.
