Sisyphus: I Am Sis … Or James

Sisyphus (RE: Hamilton defends volunteer Finney ) And I always use Sisyphus for similar reasons. I’m not a fan of sock puppets. I have one exception which actually illustrates how stupid the insistence of having people use their “real” names. I tangled with a whackadoodle on a facebook thread when I was still Sisyphus there. Facebook has a ridiculous policy of only posting under your real name. Since he couldn’t win his point, he turned me into the facebook nannies for using a fictitious name. Facebook suspended my account until I gave them a “real” name. I picked an obscure founding father, James Kent, who used to write under a pseudonym, as did many of them afraid of retribution. Facebook immediately accepted it without question presumably since it sounded “normal”. Writing under a pseudonym is a proud and patriotic tradition in this country but forcing me to have a “normal” sounding name simply makes it a deception where none existed before. Even more ironic is the fact the law and public policy are all full of entities with names other than the individuals they represent. The IFF makes full and hypocritical use of that.

Question: How did you pick your pseudonym?
