Because a BMW was not available

Michael W. Rosslow, 27, and Jacob A. Woodward, 22, were booked into Spokane County Jail late Sunday after a chase ended at an RV retailer in Liberty Lake. Spokane County Sheriff’s Deputy Justin Palmer attempted to pull the car over as it drove erratically in the area of Broadway Avenue and Flora Road, according to court documents.

Palmer said the car, driven by Rosslow, led him on a chase topping 70 miles per hour in a residential neighborhood after 7 p.m. When Rosslow stopped the vehicle at the RV seller, Woodward - who deputies said was hiding in the back - fled the car and broke into the lot, hiding under an RV. A sheriff’s dog found Woodward, who was armed with a folding knife, according to court documents.

Rosslow later lamented his choice of getaway vehicle to investigators, according to court documents. He said he ran because he thought he had a felony warrant for his arrest, according to court documents. Both men face charges of eluding police, obstructing a public servant and resisting arrest. Woodward also faces a charge of first-degree burglary for the alleged break-in at the RV retailer.

Both men are scheduled to appear in court this afternoon. Kip Hill, SR
