INVASIVE SPECIES — A workshop on aquatic plant identification will be presented at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 18, at the Community Water Resource Center, 1031 N. Academic Way in Coeur d’Alene.

This is billed as a hands-on experience to learn more about the plant growing on North Idaho lakes hosted by the Idaho Department of Agriculture, Department of Environmental Quality, Coeur d’Alene Tribe and University of Idaho.

The workshop will include:

  • Local plant specimens to see and touch.
  • Descriptions of how to identify various native species.
  • Ways to identify invasive species.
  • How to prevent introduction of invasive species.
  • What to do if you find invasives.
