It’s Phil’s day

Spokesman-Review golf writer Jim Meehan is at Chambers Bay near Tacoma to cover the U.S. Open. He took a quick snap of this car and sign about a half-mile from the course. The Phil Mickelson fan could have added “happy birthday.”  The popular lefty turned 45 today and is considered one of the favorites at Chambers Bay. Mickelson won the British Open in 2013 and has also won three Masters titles and one PGA Championship. He has been runnerup in the U.S. Open six times.
