Self-identifying conundrum
The story of Rachel Dolezal’s claiming to be black when she is not poses an interesting question in today’s political and social climate. That is: If a male can self-identify as a female, and a female can self-identify as a male, who is to judge a white woman for self-identifying as black? Is racial identity more important (or less) than gender identity?
I’m not advocating either way, but I do think it is a question that is interesting and perplexing.
