Overhaul political system

The U.S. Congress is in permanent gridlock created by party politics. It’s time to eliminate party politics and its corruption and abuse of power.

There shall be one congressional House based on current congressional districts, with representation being adjusted every 10 years as is currently being done. Members shall be elected by receiving a majority of the popular votes within each district. Term of office shall be a single four-year term, with no consecutive terms. There shall be no retirement or pensions upon leaving office.

Election dates shall be selected as is currently being done. Elections shall be every two years, with one-half the congressional members being elected every two years.

Tax-funded congressional staffs shall be limited to 1,100 members. Congressional staff members shall not be related, by blood or marriage, to any member of Congress. Members of Congress shall not vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay will increase by the lower end of the consumer price index or 3 percent.

Congressional members shall participate in the same health care system as the American people. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people.
