Selling Snake Oil To Gullible Idaho

For Utah state Rep. Ken Ivory, life is good. Arguing he has found a way to thread the legal needle and sue the federal government into relinquishing its public lands to the states has made him a hot commodity. Right-wing lobbies in the East want his attention. Government officials in the West want to talk to him. People with political money to spend want to help. What does it matter that not one state - including Ivory’s — has fully followed his advice and taken the federal government to court? So what if the newly formed Washington, D.C., watchdog group, The Campaign for Accountability, has labeled Ivory a “snake oil sales man, cloaked with respectability by his position as a legislator.” Or that the group has filed complaints with attorneys general in Utah, Montana and Arizona to investigate Ivory and his organization, the American Lands Council/ Marty Trillhaase , Lewiston Tribune.
