Clearing Out A Transient Camp

The property being cleared north of Silver Lake Mall to prevent transient camps is not planned for immediate development, property owners said Monday. A city building permit coordinator confirmed Monday that there are no plans under review at the city for that property. She said there is no address assigned to the property, which is the first thing the city would do if a building permit application is filed. Harlan Douglass, of Douglass Properties in Spokane, owns the property. Deanna Malcom, Douglass’ assistant, said the property is being cleared because of its history of harboring transient camps. “There was a transient problem up there,” she said. “We had it cleared so that won’t happen anymore”/ Press.

Question: Do you support the move to clear out the transient camp behind Target?
