Ignite CdA Adds Mayor To Board

Ignite CdA approved the nomination of Coeur d’Alene Mayor Steve Widmyer to complete the unexpired term of former mayor and commissioner Al Hassell. Approval of Widmyer’s appointment was made at last week’s ignite cda meeting. From the ignite cda draft minutes: “Commissioner Druffel shared that he supports the nomination since Mr. Widmyer will bring a strong business background to the Board.” Full minutes of the discussion re: Widmyer’s appointment here.

Question: Some say a council member or mayor shouldn’t serve on the ignite cda board. I don’t see a problem with one person sharing both roles. Do you?
