Ironman Triathletes To Meet Public

The Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Center will host a free Ironman meet and greet event featuring Ironman triathletes from 6-7 p.m. tonight. The public will have the opportunity to get up close and personal with Andy Potts, Trevor Wurtele and Heather Wurtele while hearing about their journeys as triathletes. Athletes will gain tips for their next races and will receive personally autographed posters. Experienced athletes and beginners are welcome. Potts is an Olympian who has been a regular podium World Cup winner since 2005. He’s won the 2007 Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro and the 70.3 Ironman World Championship, and more recently added Ironman Champion to his accolades. Trevor has been a consistent podium finisher, winning his first Ironman 70.3 in New Orleans in 2012 and his first full distance Ironman in 2013. Heather has won six Ironman titles and set three course records. She has also won 11 half-Ironman distance races, four of those in 2014 alone, with course records at the Monterey and Oceanside 70.3s.
