IFF’s Hoffman Earns Trib Jeer
In his weekly Cheers & Jeers column, Opinion Editor Marty Trillhaase of the Lewiston Tribune gives a jeer to — Idaho Freedom Foundation President Wayne Hoffman:
(Hoffman) just took off on a tirade against the fledgling, left-of-center advocacy group BetterIdaho. In a
fundraising letter and earlier through his IdahoReporter.com , Hoffman asserted that nefarious liberals - George Soros, the United Auto Workers, Service Employees International Union and the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees - are pouring money into this assault on Idaho conservatives. That’s a stretch. BetterIdaho relies on its affiliation with the Minnesota-based ProgressNow for some in-kind services - and ProgressNow apparently gets support from those sources. Executive Director Derek Farr of Riggins says his shoestring $80,000 budget is funded exclusively by Idaho contributors. But has anybody lately asked Hoffman where his tax-exempt IFF found $780,000 last year? Go ahead. First, he’ll tell you 90 percent of it comes from in-state. Then he’ll tell you to get lost: “That’s all you’re getting.” Come on, Wayne. You brought this up/ Marty Trillhaase , Lewiston Tribune. More here.
