Bush, Clinton again?

The recent rise of Jeb Bush’s chances for the 2016 Republican nomination and the expected anointment of Hillary Clinton for the 2016 Democratic nomination brings up a very disturbing scenario. If these two end up running against each other, one will obviously win.

Given that presidents often win re-election, this country might have, as its president, family members from only two families for 28 years over a 36-year period (1988-2024). For a democracy with 320 million people, this is an outrage.

The fact that two families can rule over this country almost 80 percent of the time for over one-third of a century is a reflection on the weakness in our political system. We are no better off than a typical dysfunctional, Third World nation when it comes to national leadership.

Wise up, America. Pick experienced, intelligent, creative, consensus leaders instead of perpetuating a bifurcated monarchy.
