Power of imagination

In my imagination, I’m boss of Spokane’s utility, formerly WWP (We Work for the People). We had a great 2014. Made a lot of money.

“Bonus, bonus!,” my people demanded.

“No,” I replied. “We will budget this for future repairs and replacements. Otherwise, when something breaks we would have to demand a service-price increase. We have to plan and work smart.”

“If we’re smart, why do we advertise? Why must we pay to have a ballpark named for us? It’s not like people have a choice!,” asked a new intern.

I whispered to a manager, “Keep an eye on that kid, she’s darn smart. Get her on that committee that investigates why Spokane has so many folks pulling down six-figure salaries.”

Ah, my imagination.
