Rep. Crane suggests racing machine compromise, manufacturer demurs

As this morning’s instant racing hearing wrapped up – it’ll continue this afternoon at 4 – Rep. Brent Crane, R-Nampa, quizzed Louis Cella of Race Tech LLC about whether a possible compromise might be to allow the gambling machines, but make them play the full horse race, rather than just the last 10 seconds. “Would that be a possible area of compromise, instead of just watching the last 10 seconds? That we watch the race in its entirety, because I love watching horses run? Would that be an area that we could agree?” Crane asked.

Cella said no. “That’s already done,” he said. “We can have the patron choose. I don’t think it’s fair to dictate.”
