Kellogg Will Shut Elementary
After months of talks between school board members and parents, it was decided during Wednesday’s school board meeting that Sunnyside Elementary in Kellogg, ID would be closing its doors. Members on the school board say they were tasked with the goal to cut costs and try to save $850,000 dollars annually after spending three years dipping into reserve funds. Sunnyside Elementary will be closed starting the 2015/16 school year and the K-5 students, of which there are 218, will be transferred to Pinehurst elementary/KHQ. More here.
