School Filing Deadline Friday

Kootenai County Clerk Jim Brannon is alerting voters that few people have filed for taxing district leadership roles in the May 19 election so far.  “ The filing deadline is 5PM Friday, March 20 ” Brannon noted. Trustee, Board member or Commissioner Seats are open at numerous districts. Potential candidates must contact taxing districts for residency requirements .  Filing paperwork needs to be started and finalized at each taxing district office . “County Elections’ staff will verify voter signatures on the petition of candidacy.  All these steps have to be completed by 5PM Friday to ensure a candidate’s name is on the ballot” Brannon emphasized/ Kootenai County Clerk’s Office news release .
