In Bruce Becherini’s March 15 letter “Kudos to Sen. Nuxoll,” he names a sickness called “revisionist denialism” affecting “elitist circles of liberal leftist groups.” Who are they and where do they hold their meetings?

He presents us with the “simple and basic truth” that “America is the greatest nation ever to exist since the dawn of man.” It is not “revisionist denialism” to acknowledge that America is a nation that was founded by slaughtering the indigenous people, then built upon the backs of slave laborers.

But he points out that “we are a nation founded on the principle that all men are created equal.” This really meant straight, white, Protestant men. No, not even the Irish or Catholics were seen as equals. He refers to the “Judeo-Christian tradition.” Why does this terminology exist?

Historically, the Christian tradition was to massacre Jews in the name of Christ. He gives “kudos” to Sen. Sheryl Nuxoll for “standing in the light” by refusing to apologize for offensive remarks she made about the Hindu faith. What he’s really doing is giving her props for being a representative of the darkest parts from the tradition of this “greatest nation” in history: religious fanaticism, ignorance and bigotry.
