PFPD: Thief Had 2nd Thoughts

From Sunday day shift of Post Falls PD: “RP (reporting party) called to report she observed a theft at one of the construction sites located on Reddington Way. The RP stated she witnessed a male load several styro-foam pieces from the construction site into his Subaru Outback. The RP confronted the suspect who got into his vehicle and left the area in a hurry, only to return a short time later and place the items back where he found them. The suspect was contacted by officers, and he admitted he took the items for his residence, but realized what he had done was “stupid” so he returned them. (Or the fact he was caught and he knew the RP had his license plate.) The suspect was advised he can still be charged for the theft once the victim (Viking Construction) is contacted and if they want to press charges. Report was taken.”
