Auction Benefits CDA Symphony Orchestra
Betsy Bullard of Coeur d’Alene is shown with the custom-built violin that she won at a fund-raising auction for the Coeur d’Alene Symphony. The fund-raiser for the Coeur d’Alene Symphony continues with an auction for a custom-built viola, on eBay. See details below.
Part one of the Coeur d’Alene Symphony’s unique Instrument Auction fundraiser was completed on Monday, with the successful auction of a custom-built violin on Ebay Charitable Giving. The winning bidder, Betsy Bullard of Coeur d’Alene, has played violin in the Coeur d’Alene Symphony for 22 years. She said “I’m thrilled. I made the bid just because I love the Symphony and had no idea we would actually win it.” She, her husband Mike, and their two adult sons each have different musical interests. Mike does classical voice, Dan is a jazz pianist and Harrison plays classical guitar. The violin was custom built specifically to help raise money for the Symphony by Jay Prior of Custom Strings in the Spokane Valley ( www.customstrings.net ).
The auction for a custom-built viola, also by Jay Prior, continues on Ebay. To place a bid on the auction site, or to view a video of how the instruments were made, visit www.cdasymphony.org . One hundred per cent of the money raised from the winning bid will go to fund the activities of the Symphony/Steve Sibulsky, Coeur d’Alene Symphony Orchestra.
