Avista letter suspicious

In our area, Avista is sending many of us letters comparing our energy consumption with our neighbors. Everyone I have spoken to that has received these letters is being urged by Avista to do something to conserve energy and cut back on power use. I don’t know who they are comparing us to, but they are comparing apples and oranges.

It makes me wonder if Avista isn’t setting us up for another request for a rate increase. It seems that if we used more energy it would increase their profits and they would not need to increase our rates.
