A Tribute To Scott Reed

In this 2002 SR file photo, Scott Reed, a member of the committee of nine, listens to the comments on the three alternative plans for McEuen Playfield, which is being discussed at a series of public meetings.

Former Idaho Conservation League executive director Pat Ford has written a superb tribute to the late Coeur d’Alene attorney Scott Reed. It was published on the ICL Web site: “Scott Reed died on May 3 at home in Coeur d’Alene with his family, at age 87, kindest and most beloved of men. No one has achieved more for Idaho’s rivers, lakes, lands, fish, wildlife and people. And, in six-decade tandem with Mary Lou Reed, he did more than anyone to build and ground Idaho conservation—its people, organizations, capabilities and heart. There is much more to Scott’s conservation work than I sketch here, and much more to Scott than conservation work.” More here.
