ACLU Rips Delco High Dress Code

The American Civil Liberties Union of Idaho blasted Declo High School’s graduation dress code in an announcement Tuesday. The organization sent a letter to Idaho’s school district superintendents warning about gender stereotyping and dress codes that discriminate by gender. A document handed out to students at Declo High School instructs girls to wear a “white or pastel dress or white or pastel blouse and skirt” to graduation. Boys are instructed to wear pants, but cannot wear sandals, though girls can. “These are the kinds of things that you look at and just shake your head,” ACLU of Idaho’s legal director Richard Eppink wrote in a statement/ Julie Wootton , Twin Falls Times-News.
