Lake Roosevelt refill won’t start until June 1

BOATING — The level of Lake Roosevelt is likely to fluctuate in the 1,248-1,252 feet elevation range through the end of May, the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation says. That could keep Memorial Day weekend boaters and campers on their toes, especially if they’re beach camping.

The level was 1,248.6 feet above sea level today, May 21.

Last year at this time the lake was in a sharp refill behind Grand Coulee Dam. However, the latest prediction for this season has a gradual refill of Lake Roosevelt beginning June 1 .

Lake Roosevelt is currently being operated for power demand and to support flows for fish at McNary Dam.
