30 Years Of Leadership CdA

It’s hard to believe that 30 years have gone by since I attended the first class of Leadership Coeur d’Alene, a group of up-and-comers in the community who learn about the community by attending monthly meetings on given local topics: Government, transportation, media, etc. It’s a Chamber of Commerce activity launched by then chamber manager Sandy Emerson. I can’t remember much about that first year, other than we imposed the Media Rule, which bans anyone from reporting the frank discussions of the class in the local newspaper. The media rule occurred because we had representatives of the two, local rival papers in class: Editor Bill SomethingOrOther from the Press and me. It was fun. It was the only civic organization that I’ve joined in my 31 years here in Coeur d’Alene. I may be the only one of my class still living and working in Coeur d’Alene. Why am I telling you this? The 30 th Reunion Party of Leadership Coeur d’Alene is being held June 11 th at Elk Point from 5-8pm. The event will be catered with plenty of light hors d’oeuvres, microbrews and ample wine. We are asking for a $20 donation and proceeds from the party will be going towards the Toni Sayler Scholarship Fund, Family Promise, Trinity Homes, and St. Vincent de Paul. Contact people are 2014 class President Ann Thomas (208-4150-5372) and 2010 class President Dustin Ainsworth (208-659-6685)

Question: Have you been a member of Leadership Coeur d’Alene or Leadership Post Falls?
