Former Coeur d’Alene police chief Wayne Longo carries the torch for Special Olympics near the Vermont state capital of Montpelier this week, in a cross-country run from Maine to Los Angeles. Longo is part of a three-man team that will spend the next month running six days a week cross country to publicize the Special Olympics. Law enforcement sponsors the run. The run began Tuesday.
