Stratton a proven leader

I urge those in Northwest Spokane to vote Karen Stratton for City Council. She’s a proven civic leader and believes in working for her constituents, all of them. I know this because she has been a partner in Corbin Park neighborhood efforts against speeders by helping get temporary speed-camera signs along the park.

She also was of great assistance after a recent burglary, when she reached out to the Spokane Police Department on our behalf. She communicated the progress through the investigation to the arrest of the suspect. She has shown to be a caring and engaged City Council representative for Northwest Spokane. She has earned my vote because she is effective.

Her opponent says he is an independent voice, yet is being bankrolled by Mayor David Condon and his developer friends. He also received a five-star rating from an extremist conservative group that believes gay, lesbian, bisexual and trans-sexual citizens can be denied service, claiming a religious right to do so.

Agreeing to extremists’ views certainly doesn’t seem independent. It’s downright un-American.

A proven leader in Karen versus an extremist challenger? No question about it, vote for Karen Stratton for council. Our family is.
