Election Day roundup
Let’s use this thread to report all things Election Day that you see out there, including people standing on the street corners with election signs and anything interesting at the polling places. I’ll go first:
- 10:28 a.m. Poll worker tells Frito Ray at Nazarene Church precincts that turnout has been steady but not large today.
- 10:19 a.m. (from Spudbob): About 20 people had voted in precinct #44 as of 10:00.
- 10:12 a.m. (from Don Sausser): “I voted before shaving.”
- 8:03 a.m. (from FB Friend Dan O’Brien): “Scary stuff at Farragut polling place. 7:30 and its chaos. Poll workers arguing over how to set up the machines. They weren’t ready for voters so I had to do provisional. Made sure I saw them actually put it in the box.”
- 7:58 a.m. I was the first to vote from Precinct 52 (or 50, for that matter). In fact, I arrived about 3 minutes early and watched the Precinct 52 workers being sworn in. I was also asked to check the election box to ensure that there was nothing in it before I voted. There wasn’t. Ron Edinger and Dan English were the first candidates to get votes at my precinct.
- 7:54 a.m. I saw Steve Roberge smiling and waving his campaign sign on 4th street in Dalton Gardens this morning as I was driving to work.
