And one last thing …

In a comment under his letter to the editor that was re-printed in the Coeur d’Alene Press Online, Chairman Brent Regan of the Idaho Freedom Foundation board offered this line: “If you think that the election turned on a single flyer then you are a fool. Record levels of voter apathy is a direct function of the poor performance of city government.” Beside the fact that Regan likes to call others “fools” and describe them as “feculent,” Brilliant Brent seems to have forgotten that his GOTParty in Idaho is responsible for depressing the voter turnout in GOP primaries. He didn’t seem to mind when Mary Souza knocked off veteran state senator John Goedde in a Coeur d’Alene GOP primary, which attracted 5,000 voters left than her mayoral race did 6 months earlier. The lopsided victories by Ron Edinger and Dan English in the recent City Council election are far more legitimate than the ones by Souza and state Rep. Kathy Sims in the closed-GOTP primary. I highly doubt that Souza and Sims would win a November election, if they were forced to face a centrist Republican and the entire Coeur d’Alene electorate in a November finals.
