House taking 255 days off

Republicans always complain that government just doesn’t work, and they are apparently correct. The Republican-controlled House of Representatives just released its 2016 schedule. Of the 365 days in the year, U.S. House members will work only 110 day, and will take a whopping 255 days off. Not bad for $174,000 dollars a year.

I guess our tax dollars will not be at work much in 2016.

Please remember that Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers always brags about her leadership role in the House of Representatives. This appalling 2016 schedule is the result of do-nothing Republican leadership, and she must shoulder some of the blame.

This schedule sure leaves plenty of time for the real work of Congress these days; getting re-elected. So when Cathy comes home and brags about her leadership role in the U.S. House, you might ask her if she intends to do any real work in 2017 and beyond. She sure does not expect to work much next year.
