Poll: Idaho opposes LGBT guidelines
A majority of respondents say they oppose new school standards regarding gender identity and sexual orientation, according to a poll released Monday. Fifty-six percent of respondents opposed the Idaho School Boards Association guidelines designed to protect lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender students, according to an Idaho Politics Weekly poll . Meanwhile, 36 percent of respondents supported the standards. Respondents voiced opposition to the standards — which include gender-neutral dress codes and accommodations for same-sex couples at school dances — after they were told that a vast majority of districts have not adopted them.
