Idaho GOP to target Planned Parenthood

Republican lawmakers expect legislation targeting Planned Parenthood will be introduced when they reconvene in January. Assistant Majority Leader Rep. Brent Crane, R-Nampa, said he has talked to several of his colleagues who are preparing bills to target the organization, which has a clinic in Twin Falls and two in the Boise area. Efforts to defund or investigate Planned Parenthood have come back to the front burner since a conservative group started to release undercover videos in July that, it says, show Planned Parenthood officials discussing the sale of fetal tissue, stirring revulsion among many abortion opponents. “I personally found the national videos to be abhorrent,” said Rep. Steve Hartgen, R-Twin Falls, who said he would support a state investigation into Planned Parenthood. “I don’t know how one could look at those videos and not be concerned”/ Nathan Brown , Twin Falls Times-News.
