MacNeil backed recall effort

After hearing him speak, a friend describes Bruce MacNeil, the second challenger against incumbent Steve Adams in their three-way City Council race, as the “Clint Eastwood character in ‘Gran Torino” — on one hand saying that the community needs to come together and on the other scolding people. In the question-and-answer phase of today’s Democratic Club luncheon, MacNeil said he supported (and was active in) the unsuccessful recall effort against then Coeur d’Alene mayor Sandi Bloem and three City Council members. He said he is only going to spend $500 on the campaign and won’t take endorsements from anyone. (You can see a full copy of the flier MacNeil handed out at the luncheon, in the comment section.)
