Stratton good for West Central

I’m a member of the West Central Neighborhood Council, and I’m writing to urge the voters of District 3 to retain Karen Stratton as City Council representative. Since Stratton was appointed to replace Steve Salvatori, I have witnessed firsthand her attention to and concern for West Central. She has often attended our meetings to present information from the city. However, she recently did something that impressed me tremendously.

In September, the council changed the location of our monthly meeting to Dutch Jake’s Park, which has become a gathering place for gangs and criminal activity. More residents than usual attended the meeting, largely to vent their anger and frustration at the amount of crime in the area.

Stratton was present for the entire meeting, and also volunteered to stay afterward to talk with anyone who wanted to be heard further. Since then, she has stayed in contact with neighborhood council members to continue the dialog on what needs to be done.

Having Stratton as our representative will help to assure the successful implementation of the changes necessary to make West Central a safe place to live. I intend to vote for Stratton, and I hope you will as well.
