Ahern has experience

John Ahern is running for president of the Spokane City Council. He is a longtime resident of Spokane, a U.S. Army veteran and a successful small-business owner. After 10 years of serving the citizens of Spokane as state representative, whereby he directed efforts for the passage of the state’s first felony driving-under-the-influence law and secured a Spokane veteran’s home, Ahern will now fight for the citizens again to make Spokane a more business-friendly city, which will ensure the creation of new jobs and retain current businesses.

Ahern served as lieutenant governor and longtime member of Kiwanis while staying active in scouting. He also served as member of the board of trustees of the Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture.

Given the current president’s detrimental actions forcing upon businesses the making of Spokane as a “sanctuary city,” and developing plans for imposing a $15 minimum wage increase and implementing paid sick leave, the latter two to come after the election, a change in leadership needs to be made.

Ahern has the experience to lead Spokane. Elect John Ahern president of the Spokane City Council.
