Ex-coroner West backs incumbent Adams
In a mass-mailing letter that I received over the weekend, former Kootenai County Coroner Robert S. West endorsed incumbent Steve Adams for Coeur d’Alene City Council. It was a short letter that claimed Adams has served the city well over the last four years. I’d dispute that. But the line that caught my eye was this one: “He has sought to heal the wounds of the failed recall vote …” Can anyone tell me how in the world that Adams “sought to heal the wounds of the failed recall vote.” If memory serves me correctly, Adams, Dan Gookin and, yes, even Ron Edinger sat quietly on their hands while then mayor Sandi Bloem, Mike Kennedy, Deanna Goodlander and Mike Kennedy took a pounding for months at the hands of recall signature gatherers Mary Souza, Kathy Sims and their allies. Edinger, I believe, now says that he opposed the recall. I’m not sure whether Adams or Gookin ever said that much.
Question: How did Councilman Steve Adams seek “to heal the wounds of the failed recall vote”?
