Verduin likes a challenge

Obviously, as his wife, I think Evan is the best man for the job. My reasons for thinking so, however, may not quite be so obvious. I remember lying in bed, 30 weeks pregnant with child No. 4, when Evan comes rolling into the bedroom: “I think I need to run for City Council.” Ha, good one, Evan. I quickly fell asleep as to not have to entertain the crazy plan a moment longer.

Anyone who knows Evan also knows that Evan always has big plans. It’s not enough to have a large family, run his own architecture firm, manage development projects, run triathlons, fly to the moon, etc. To say the guy likes a challenge would be a major understatement. So, somehow I knew this new crazy plan would not be going away. He started gently introducing all the reasons why he had to do this. The more I heard, the more understanding I became. His business is at risk. Our city is at risk.

Evan’s decision to run for City Council is a career move, but not in the way it is for his opponent. Evan is not seeking a life in politics. Continued at www.facebook.com/voteverduin.
