Mike Kenney, via Facebook: “The issue of immigration, refugees, and humanity is not so distant and esoteric that it should be something we cavalierly bluster about during political campaigns then go back to ignoring. Whatever our views on America’s specific immigration issues, when we see the images today of crisis and trauma and lost innocent life afflicting the people trying to flee Syria it should snap us all back to reality with the need for action to help. As a nation and as a world we can help and we must. As moral human beings we can’t always choose how and when and where we help - we must play the hands we are dealt. Do what you can.”
