Green becomes county chairman

Huckleberries has confirmed that Commissioner Dan Green has taken over for David Stewart as chairman of the Board of County Commissioners. Green became chairman on a 2-1 vote of the commissioners Tuesday. Commissioner Marc Eberlein made the motion to change the chairman and Green seconded it. The move comes as a surprise to your Huckleberry Hound because Eberlein and Stewart ran for office on a conservative ticket last fall. After the swearing in of the two commissioners in January, Stewart was voted in as chairman. Green told Huckleberries moments ago that the chairmanship is no big deal. That all commissioners hold equal power and responsibility: “I look forward to facilitating the operations of the county. That’s my job. As a facilitator I’m working with my two partners.”
