Cow photo shameful

I don’t read The Spokesman-Review very much, and seeing the Aug. 30 picture of charred trees, a mama cow wedged in between those trees, and her calf burnt to death just confirms why I don’t.

It is fully understood that these things happen in nature, and especially in times of the fires we’ve had. However, I was absolutely disgusted that you would choose to put this on the front page. Of the thousands of photographs of area fires that I’m sure people have submitted, that was the photo you chose to display. Shame on you.

You should have better taste than that, and more sympathy for those who have lost their land and their livelihoods. Among all the other tragedies that people are having to pick up after, this is the last thing people really need to see, young or old. There are definitely other areas of charred trees and land you could have shown.

Rude, disgusting, disrespectful and inappropriate. That’s what I saw when I picked up Spokane’s “great” Spokesman-Review.
