7 years of Mudgy & Millie

The book “Mudgy and Millie,” by Coeur d’Alene author Susan Nipp, will be celebrating its seventh anniversary with a birthday party event at the Coeur d’Alene Public Library on Saturday. (Shawn Gust / Spokesman-Review)

Saturday will mark the seventh birthday for the Coeur d’Alene Public Library’s moose and mouse, Mudgy and Millie. Though it’s unknown how old Mudgy and Millie actually are, they were born out of a love of books, active living, public art, and the community of Coeur d’Alene. The animal pair’s fans of all ages are invited to a party in the Community Room at Coeur d’Alene Public Library on Saturday at 11 a.m. Children’s author Susan Nipp created Mudgy and Millie in her book about their adventures. Nipp, who is a member of the Library Foundation Board, signed over all royalties from the sale of the book and related merchandise to the foundation/ Jamie Sedlmayer , Coeur d’Alene Press.
