CdA forger gets 12 years
A Coeur d’Alene woman has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for forging her husband’s signature to obtain a loan. Chanell Barto, 38, was sentenced to 12 years in prison, with two years fixed and 10 years indeterminate on September 9. According to the Kootenai County Prosecutor’s Office, Barto forged her husband’s signature in order to obatin a loan from her employer. Her husband found out about his forged signature when Barto’s employer called him, asking why payments had been made on the loan. Previously, Barto was convicted in 2012 of Grand Theft for embezzling from the Elks Lodge, her former employer/ KXLY. More here .
