Speak to atrocities

The Sunday editorial column on abortion was a well-written legal treatise. The only missing ingredient demanded by this subject was a heartfelt regard for human life.

We know the Supreme Court gave its blessing to those who wish to kill their unborn children. However, that is a poor argument for endorsing it. The law may or may not look the other way if body parts are sold for research. Thank goodness for people of conscience with the intrepid spirit to say, “Damn the law, I know right from wrong, and this is wrong.”

The editorial mocked the comparison of abortion to the evil works of Dr. Josef Mengele. Mocking does not invalidate the comparison. Mengele had two doctoral degrees, which he used in part to dissect diseased children and then sold body parts to the SS Academy for research. Sound familiar? In 1943, we called it a war crime. In 2015, we call it a Supreme Court decision.

Arson attacks on Planned Parenthood are wrong and should not be condoned. But if we are not able to rise above the printed wording of our laws and demand an end to the horrible atrocities committed against unborn babies, then we are a doomed society.
