CHS to enforce dance dress code, more

The Coeur d'Alene High band marches down main street this afternoon as part of the school's homecoming activities this week. (Joel Osborne / Idaho Panhandler)

Joel Osborne of IdahoPanhandler.com reports strict dress code will be enforced and Breathalyzer used at Coeur d’Alene High Homecoming Dance from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday. Joel published an email circulated to parents this week. It said in part:

We know that a student’s High School years contain wonderful memories that last a lifetime. In order to ensure a safe, fun and memorable time for our students; all students will be dress coded at the door and will be required to carry a current ID for admittance. All bags and purses will be searched and students will be asked to submit to a Breathalyzer test. More here.

DFO: I’ve heard rumblings that some parents and children don’t appreciate strict enforcement of this policy b/c dresses that may not meet dress code standards have been purchased at great expense.
