Editorial: Idaho suffers from Otter fatigue

Some would have preferred seeing Gov. C.L.

At the Lewiston Tribune this AM, Opinion Editor Marty Trillhaase offers this editorial:

Early in 2010, the Spokesman-Review’s Betsy Russell explained Idaho Gov. C.L. “Butch” Otter’s political Teflon-coating to the Boise City Club: “Even if everything is going to hell in a handbasket …, he’s an appealing politician, and voters have shown they will forgive him for just about anything.” Except, it turns out, for serving a third term. According to pollster Dan Jones & Associates, Otter’s job approval rating is under water. He’s now at 47 percent approval. Another 39 percent don’t like the job he’s doing, 12 percent either don’t know or don’t care and - incredibly for a politician who’s been on the stage four decades - 4 percent never heard of Otter. To put that in perspective, Wednesday’s Gallup poll puts President Obama’s job approval rating at 48 percent. More here.

Question: Would you like to see term limits applied to Idaho governors?
